If your looking a joining us in one or our roles, whether it be a Responder, Controller or Publicity support, you are always welcome to apply.

Your journey starts by you contacting our Membership Officer, they will then email you a link to a online membership form. Once you have completed this you will be invited along to one of our Recruitment Events. These are held throughout the year. This is a chance for you to meet some members of the team, find out more about what we do, and see if becoming a volunteer with Derbyshire 4×4 Response is right for you. Derbyshire 4×4 Response covers Derbyshire and and the Peak District.

If after the event, which normally is a couple of hours in an evening, and if you still want to be a member you will be invited to take a Driving Evaluation (Responders Only) with one of our training team, this is a requirement of our end users and is not a test but a chance for us to see you and your vehicle first hand.

At this point you will be a probationary Responder and will then continue your training alongside the other responders covering such topics as:

Off road driving – Winching and Recovery – Navigation – First Aid – Vehicle Care & Traffic Management.

Responders who complete all the training modules can then go on to be LANTRA trained and join our training team, guiding new responders on their journey.

As what we do at Derbyshire 4×4 Response could involve vulnerable adults and children all members are DBS checked. Volunteer DBS checks are free.
